COMMON COMMUNICABLE DISEASES Diseases which can be passed from one person to another are known as communicable diseases. Examples of communicable diseases are: malaria tuberculosis common cold and thyphoid.

CAUSES OF MALARIA

MALARIA Malaria is caused by some small parasite which feed on the red blood cells of the human body The malaria causing parasite are passed from one person to another through mosquito bites. In this way, malaria is passed from one person to the other.

Signs and symptoms of malaria. Rise in body temperature. Shivering followed by sweating. Headache Pain in the joints Body becomes weak Vomiting Loss of appetite Diarhoea

Signs and symptoms of malaria Lack of enough blood in the body which may cause anemia.. Dehydration of the body.

Prevention of malaria Sleeping under mosquito net. The net should preferably be treated with an insecticide which kills or repels mosquitoes. Draining unwanted stagnant water which provides a breeding place for mosquitoes. Clearing away cans and polythene bags which may contain stagnant water. People who are visiting places with a lot of mosquitoes should take malarial preventive drugs.
