Role and function The nervous system is the major controlling, regulatory, and communication system in the body It is the center of all mental activity including learning and memory There is the central nervous system which is the brain and spinal cord Peripheral nervous system which is all the nerves

Disease of the Nervous System Stroke is a general term for a sudden neurological event Results in the new onset of neurological symptoms The term is derived from the same definition as a ‘’stroke of light referring to something that occurs suddenly and without warning
