Early Web Creation Sites GeoCities Free web builder/host site Basic in its capabilities Mostly Text, ClipArt & Links Bought out by Yahoo Now only available in Japan Angelfire Was originally a free web host Still around and also improved web builder tools Now have to pay to use

Weebly A web-hosting service that allows a user to create a web site with a “Drag & Drop” builder Made it easy for anyone to build a personal web site Founded in 2006 3 students at Penn State created Wanted an easier way to create an Internet portfolio Very easy-to-use and is quite powerful This is what we will use in this class

Google Sites A wiki- and web page creation tool Created in 2008 Free to use and hosted by Google Allows to be used and maintained by group of people (wiki aspect) Google Sites was initially confusing to use, but “NEW” sites is much better
