BEHAVIOR HISD STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT SCHOOL RULES AND POLICIES CLASSROOM RULES AND EXPECTATIONS BEHAVIOR

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT 5 LEVELS OF OFFENSES Level 1: Offenses that generally occur in the classroom and can be corrected by the teacher. Level 2: Offenses that are more serious in nature or repeated instances of level 1 misconduct Level 3: Offenses that seriously disrupt the educational process in the classroom or in the school or repeated instances of level 1, level 2 or level 3 misconduct.

Level 1 OFFENSES CONSEQUENCES Not following teacher’s rules or procedures Not participating in classroom activities Unexcused tardiness to class Not bringing required classroom materials or assigned work to class Eating in class, horseplay, making excessive noise, not following campus dress code Disruptive or non-compliant behavior on a school bus or school bus stop Verbal or Non-verbal redirection Student-teacher conference Parent contact Teacher detention Restriction of school bus privilege Level 1

Level 2 OFFENSES CONSEQUENCES Office referral Repeated Level 1 misconduct Cheating Cafeteria disturbance Not following mandatory school-uniform policy Disruptive behavior or a school bus or a school bus stop Any other acts that interfere with the orderly educational process in the classroom or the school Office referral Administrative detention (1 hour) Saturday detention (3 hours) Removal of school transportation privileges Level 2

DRESS CODE POLICY Burgundy polo shirt with the BCMA logo, tucked – in Khaki pants or knee-length khaki skirt, with belt Cargo Pants or Cargo Shorts Not Allowed White or black leggings may be worn underneath skirts. But leggings do not make up for length.
