Positive Thinking An Ordinary Mortal

Positive Thinking 1. Find the optimistic viewpoint in a negative situation 2. Cultivate and live in a positive environment 3. Go slowly 4. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill 5. Don’t let vague fears hold you back from doing what you want 6. Add value and positivity to someone else’s life 8. Learn to take criticism in a healthy way 9. If something still gets under your skin then know what to do 10. Start your day in a positive way An Ordinary Mortal

Positive Thinking Positive thinking is good. But you should not try to use it to block out everything negative that happens in your life. Sometimes bad stuff happens, and you will feel down about it. It’s no good pretending that you don’t because forced positive thinking can be counterproductive. What you need to avoid is the ‘developing disaster’ scenario (the ‘my life is a total disaster’ tape that plays in your head). The best way to do that is NOT to tell yourself that your life is perfect. Instead, you need to recognise what has gone wrong but set it in context. For example: “Yes, I’m having a bad day, but tomorrow will be better. I will go home now and I will be able to think of a solution to the problem in the morning when I am less tired.” An Ordinary Mortal

Tools For Positive Thinking Avoiding getting stressed Seeing from another point of view.  Being constructive and visualising a successful outcome Don’t dwell on own or other people’s mistakes, instead look for opportunity Avoid laying blame Sharpen sense of humour An Ordinary Mortal

The Glad Game Imagine the following situations and try converting the same to a Positive Note 1. Target not achieved 2. Vacation cancelled due to cancellation of leave 3. Fired from work 4. Accident leading to fracture in leg 5. Relationship Break up 6. Death of a close friend An Ordinary Mortal
