The Story of Tonight Inception of PR Week Idea behind the event Purpose of the event

What’d I Miss? What have we done in the past? Programming Speakers Pick a theme and stick to it Speakers Some of our favorite guests Results Opportunities stemming from PR Week

The Issue on the Table How can you host a PR Week of your own? Current and former Waynesburg PRSSA members with PR Week VI keynote speaker, Amy Taylor

Plan! And start now. Establish a planning committee, including: Committee head Logistics manager Food and beverage coordinator Graphic designer Speaker liaison Promotions manager

What does PR Week programming look like at Waynesburg? Keynote Speaker State of the Chapter Address Special Interest Topics Social Senior Recognition Job & Internship Fair Alumni and Young Professionals Panel Internship Presentations Sports Communication Panel New Member Recognition   Networking Breakfast Video

We Get the Job Done! Enlist the help of your: Chapter Executive Board Chapter Members Faculty and Professional Advisers Professors Alumni PRSA Sponsor Chapter PR Week VI Alumni Panel

The World Turned Upside Down Focus Make PR Week an internal event: this is not a Regional Conference! Invite Extend invitations to Chapter members, firm members, department students, professors and more Celebrate Make PR Week about reflecting on the achievements of your Chapter thus far

Day-to-Day Planning Build a schedule that includes two to four programs per day. Remember: Vary times Be courteous of class, practice and meeting times Don’t hold other PRSSA or firm meetings Take the week off Check room availability Take it from us!

The Room Where it Happens Assign someone to meet the speaker Always have a bottle of water per speaker at the podium Ask a trusted Chapter member to introduce the speaker Allow time for questions Give a small gift and follow up with a thank-you note

Publish Your Response Assign Chapter members to write a session recap on each PR Week event to engage readers who couldn’t attend. Follow PRSSA National’s format for session recaps if you are unsure of how to start.

What Comes Next? Evaluate: what can we do better next time? Possible evaluation methods include Likert scale questionnaires for attendees and speakers, with space for comments.

Good luck! We hope to hear about successful PR Week celebrations at your Chapters. For more information on planning your own PR Week, or to learn more about our Chapter, visit wuprssa.com. While you’re there, check out our blog and award-winning newsletter, Trending Topics!
