History Main Functions: The main functions of the radio are to listen to a one way public broadcast often of music. And to send & listen to a transmission. (like used in the army) Purpose The purpose of the radio is so you can listen to talk shows, News,& music. The radio was created to send and listen to a public/nonpublic broadcast.

THE AMAZING RADIO The radio was invented by Nikola Tesla in 1895. (month and day unknown)

Original vs Today Original : You could just listen to music and news and talk radio. Originally the radio was used to send and listen to transmissions. Today you can but c.d.s or you could plug in you m.p.3. (They are so cool now) Today it is also used to listen to a one way public broadcast of music.
