Supplier Development Programme Welcome to the Supplier Development Programme SDP is a local authority initiative in partnership with Scottish Government and DSBEP The aim of the programme is to ensure that Scottish SME’s and Third Sector organisations have access to free procurement advice and training, to ensure they can FIND, WIN and KEEP government contracts

Supplier Development Programme Who we are Launched in 2009 Scottish local authorities, the Third Sector & Supported Businesses National team based at South Lanarkshire Council Over 9k registered business throughout Scotland

Supplier Development Programme By assisting local home grown businesses to become tender ready for public sector tendering, we improve all-round efficiency, sustainability and market potential. SDP ensure businesses gain the skill set to tender successfully for contracts and improve their prospects when competing for government contracts - in the UK and beyond.

Supplier Development Programme £10 billion Scottish Government £240 billion UK annual spend How public bodies spend this money is controlled by very strict rules. These rules vary depending on the type and value of the contract. The most detailed rules usually apply to higher value contracts.

ESPD (Scotland) Suppliers no longer need to provide certificates or supporting documents - allowing you to self-declare that your business meets the selection & exclusion criteria set out in each opportunity. You will be asked to provide proof at a later stage.

EU Thresholds Contracts lower than the EU thresholds (known as "below-threshold" contracts) are subject to fewer rules. These contracts must still be advertised All public contracts in Scotland over £50K for goods & services or £2m works contracts will be advertised via the Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) website.
