Presentation transcript:

First step to Professional Development Dr. Aziza Kavlu

Workshop Is a great way for someone to learn about a particular subject, learn new projects, and methods in order to better you Attending workshops can help students achieve success in their academic environment by putting these skills into practice

Benefits to stay up to date to energize to adopt modern strategies and tools for ensuring the success of your project learning about new and more effective ways to accomplish things and gaining more knowledge about subjects and concepts learn research-based strategic learning and teaching practices

Why PROJECTS To provide adequate transit from Rote memorization Teacher centered Low productive and low authentic system to student- centered high-order thinking, critical thinking, creativity and lifelong learners give new wind in your sails and thinking to integrate into ANY course

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING Learning activities are student-centered integrated with real world issues and practice Cooperative group learning students to conduct research, to solve problems to synthesize information infusing higher-order thinking skills, guiding life choices, Providing experiences to individual students’ interests

Importance of PBL (Project Based Learning) Project work works well with CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). Projects are more memorable and unforgettable Projects link to the lives of learners; they are meaningful, not just prescriptive or pedagogic.

Architecture and Civil Engineering Departments’ Project – Mini Conference Presentation Do Architecture Engineering students need to have a very good command of English (English language Skills) Do Civil Engineering students need to have a very good command of English (English language Skills) Does English language reading contribute to academic development of Architecture Engineering Department’s students Does English language reading contribute to academic development of Civil Engineering Department’s student

Your Projects should renewed hope and inspiration tips, tricks, and strategies need to be weighed as to 'worth' and 'accuracy' before using be a good experience help students to take responsibility for own happiness and success

Practical application of learning to the real world and the world of work Skill development including communication, team work and presentation Hands on learning, problem solving and development of creative solutions Development of an understanding about architecture and the built environment.

The points to Avoid sharing incorrect knowledge not at all knowledgeable be a waste of time

Project Generation Requirements in Project Based Learning (PBL) Before starting projects students have to form their groups and name their group Groups should consist not more than 3 and less than 2 students Project’s diary – it is a notebook where students reflect their daily feedbacks (general problems, frequently encountered challenges, common obstacles, in-group problems) while generating projects

The project should be done as a Power Point to prove your option at least 3 scientific significant articles should be printed out, elaborated and presented to Projects’ lecturer (supervisor) You are completely free to prove your idea either you disagree or agree but you have to prove your opinion scientifically To prove conduct questionnaire or hold interview Show - video, seminar, conference or workshop Articles should be analyzed in details to be able to provide strong evidence to support your ideas by all members of the group Group members’ brainstorming and discussion results are essential Project’s diary is obligatory which describe the process of project formation

Project Presentation – As a Conference The project will be presented to audience invited by students themselves Audience – each member of group will invite 10 people who knows or at least understand English (University or school students, experts,) Administration, Head of Departments, other Lecturers and wider audience of University will be invited by students

Criteria, Rubrics or Checklist The poster’s size should be standard. Originality is very important No any excuses will be accepted for deadline Don’t forget the projects effect is %20 Your presentation is essential who will read, use direct internet sources their project directly will be cancelled Internet copy paste project won’t be accepted and the group’s general mark will be decreased by 10 percent
