Observing some of my own contextual influences, I can better understand who I am: Passionate about politics and social justice due to being raised in Portland, Or and because of my parents who were active in 1960s social change movements and encouraged me to speak my mind and stay informed. Acceptance of many different people and religions because of my parents diverse religious and cultural backgrounds love being social and making others laugh because of my fathers loud and quirky family and personality Very competitive due to being involved with sports at an early age and growing up with a twin sister. Love for nature and adventure due to being raised in Oregon and having parents who loved to hike, bike, canoe and ski

education is important because it a value that my family holds very highly love for being active because i was always involved in sports or running around with my sister growing up In Portland shaped my fashion choices and how I interact with people My love for animals comes from always having a pet and my parents exposing me to many animals as a child. my dads family from New York most likely influenced me to be a fast paced person

REFLECTIONS Upon reviewing my influences, I noticed that I am very into politics and social interaction. My parents are both very liberal and my father participated in the anti-war rallies of the 1960s and many other “hippie” festivities. Growing up, my parents made sure that I was aware of what was happening in the world and I could form my own opinions. Their activism and beliefs were instilled in me and thus made me a very liberal and politically aware person. These connections show that I am a social person who is interested in changing the world around myself
