There are three main influences – economic, physical environment and psychological factors Economic factors These are to do with money from a persons income it is also their status their wealth and their occupation. Income = all the money you are paid Wealth = the money left over after the bills have been paid Occupation = the job you do (manual and non manual ) Status = how other people see you in society

Employed vs unemployed Not only will you have more money if you have a job but people in work often have more self esteem as they feel valued by society and have a higher status than an unemployed person who is able to work but cant get a job. If a person applies for jobs and doesn’t get them it can lead to depression, stress and anxiety . Living on a limited income can also be stressful if you are worried about paying bills or cant afford to do nice things with your family .
Task Anthony is 22 and works as a manual labourer for a local building company. He works outside all day moving heavy loads and helping the skilled trades people he earns minimum wage and lives at home with his parents and two younger brothers. 1. Explain two effects on health and well-being of living on a limited income. (4 marks) 2. Explain two possible effects of being employed in a manual work on physical health.
