How does God meet our needs? By: Paul Smith

A. There are things we need and things we desire. I. Introduction A. There are things we need and things we desire.

II. Identifying our Needs A. Needs are a true deficiency, lack, or shortage.

1. Physical: There are things we need to function properly. a. Matthew 6:25-33 Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?

And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing?... But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

2. Safety We all have the need to feel safe. a. Psalms 28:7 God is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart is happy in Him, and with my song I shall thank Him

3. Belonging:  We are all a part of something. a. Fill in the blank: I am proud to be a part of (my)...

b. When we trust in Christ, we are fully accepted by God.   c. Ephesians 5:30 – we all belong to the body – which is the Church

4. Self Esteem: We have the need to feel like we are worth something. a. God calls us his children,  he made us in his image, and then the redesigned us to be like  Christ!

b. Romans 8:28-30 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

B. God promises to meet all of our needs, but first we need to meet with him.

III. Conclusion Philippians 4:19 My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus
