Reading What are the Grammy Awards given for? Where and when? The Grammy Awards are presented in the US in February every year. They are given for important achievements in recorded music. How many categories are there in the awards? There are 105 categories in the awards, and they cover 30 different types of music.

3. How do they decide to whom such an award should be given? The awards depend on how many votes each artist receives from members of the Recording Academy.
