Professional Conduct at Large Clients will know my areas of expertise. I will accurately represent my specialty. I will never falsely identify or falsely represent myself. As a Nationally certified and license personal trainer, I not only represent myself, I represent the organization in which I am bound by law to adhere to.

Professional Conduct with Clients Being an effective listener. Providing emotional and task related support. Encouraging my clients to reach their full potential. Being an effective listener will ensure that misunderstandings or misrepresentation can be avoided or addressed. “As a result of being a listener, the coach/mentor will be able to summarize the progress of the person he or she is working with” (DuBrin, 2005).

Conflict of Interest Keeping integrity of my position at the highest. Seeking the help of another professional. Stepping down as their trainer. If a conflict of interest situation occurs, I have always sought the help of another professional or referred my clients to a colleague who would be of better service to them. I always make it a point to uphold my professionalism.

Confidentiality/Privacy Utilizing contracts and agreements. Maintaining my integrity required by law. Building trust and keeping their information safe. My clients are given confidentiality/privacy agreements to read and sign. I am bound by law to uphold the agreement and I never release any information on my clients without permission.

As a personal trainer, coach, and mentor following the International Coach Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics will and has provided me with the tools needed to afford my clients with the best coaching and mentoring skills possible. Developing an environment where empathy is shown, active listening, trust is built, and influences are ethical. While adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by the Code of Ethics and my organization.
