Pros and Cons of HE (Higher Education) courses The positives of HE is you will be able to create a portfolio of work and be taught to a high level. The negatives of HE is that it is expensive to do.
Work experience What are the opportunities in your local area to gain work experience? Right now I cant find any work experience in my area but I could go and email a professional photographer that has a shop down this way. I could assistant photography with a professional. NOTE: you need to email a professional from the industry to find out what skills they recommend and how they entered the industry- do this now!
Pros and Cons of Work experience The positive about doing work experience is that you get training at the same time as when your working in the shop, you might get asked to stay on to work if they think that your that good at the job. The negatives when your doing work experience you don’t actually get paid by doing the work in the shop, which some people don’t like but in away your getting experience for free. Can you get a job with just media work experience. What might your first job be? Yes I could just get a job by working in the media industry by starting of as an assistant photographer. My first job will be as an assistant photographer to start off and then in the end, get a job in General Practice Photographer
Training You could work as assistant photographer as this counts as training for the creative media. There is a Junior Photographer in Bristol, England The company was founded in 2009. The Headquarters is in Sevenoaks, England Theses are some jobs that are around UK for photography. https://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/term-time-school- photographer/33387794?source=searchResults#/jobs?keywords=training+Photog rapher https://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/prep-room- operative/33368410?source=searchResults#/jobs/photographer-in-newton- abbot
Pros and Cons of Training The positives about training is that you get all the training you will need to work, like first aid, how to pick your camera gear Correctly and not hurt yourself as you do the job. The negative is that it will cost you more to get training courses but if you want the training you wouldn't mind paying for it. I think you could get a job with training as they will know you are up for the job and get working right away.
Conclusion One of the routes to get in to the creative media industry is that you have to have a hobby for taking photos and filming people. Most people go to college to do creative media or just go for a photography course. Second of the routes in to the industry you could go for a training courses for creative media. Third route in that you can go to university as people like to see you’ve gone to university to study what they like to do and see what the people are like.
