Student Sample Essay: What is the author’s purpose? Who is her intended audience? How does she use evidence? How is the essay organized? What type of tone is created by her word choice? Introduction: How does the author prepare the reader to be open to persuasion? Where is the thesis? Body: What type of tone is used? How does that effect the argument? What type of evidence is used? How does that support the argument? Conclusion? How does the author conclude? How does the tone of the conclusion impact the argument?
