May we attend to the needs of the earth, even as we accept its gifts. May we be thankful for the truth, however difficult, as well as the comforts of our culture. May we attend to the needs of the earth, even as we accept its gifts.
Illuminate the abundance of the world we share, And may the light we kindle as the symbol of our own heritage and faith Illuminate the abundance of the world we share,
And be reflected in the generosity and gratitude of our living. ---Rev. Kendyl Gibbons

Gratitude begins in our hearts and then dovetails into behavior Gratitude begins in our hearts and then dovetails into behavior. It almost always makes you willing to be of service, which is where the joy resides. It means that you are willing to stop being such a jerk. When you are aware of all that has been given to you, in your lifetime and the past few days, it is hard not to be humbled, and pleased to give back.

As we gather in gratitude for all that we have received, so too, do we now joyfully give a portion of our bounty. Let our giving be a measure of the thankfulness we feel this season.
