It is a day for strengthening the ideals of Peace. Education for Justice International day of Peace was created in 1981 by the United Nations, (UN) and is celebrated every year on September 21st. It is a day for strengthening the ideals of Peace. 2

We are currently facing a refugee crisis. Education for Justice "We came to Lampedusa on 19 June 2013, there were 84 people on our boat, but 22 were killed when we hit a ship and capsized. I am lucky; I could be a dead man now…” "Immigrants dying at sea, in boats which were vehicles of hope and became vehicles of death.” We are currently facing a refugee crisis. How does the crisis relate to dignity? “My bones hurt. I still have back pains from sleeping on the street. I slept on cardboard with no blanket or sheets. Even now when I sleep on a mattress my shoulder really hurts…”  “I lost my parents and everything back home and I thought life would be better in Europe.“ 5
