City/State: Lobec, Maine Important Fact: Fishing is an important industry in the N.E.! The coastline has many harbors. The melting of the ice age caused rocky shores. Lighthouses were built to keep the sailors from crashing into the rocky shores.

Mount Washington

City/State: New Hampshire Important Fact: Mount Washington has the highest peak (summit) in the northeast with some of the world’s most severe weather. It is a part of the Appalachian Mountain range, which is one of the oldest ranges in the world!
