Rhythm The organization of music in time using long and short note values

Downbeat Downward motion of a conductor’s hand that indicates the first beat of a measure

Time Signature A sign placed after the clef and key signature at the beginning of a piece that indicates the meter of the piece. It can be placed anywhere else throughout the piece if the meter changes.
