NMUSD Adult Education Student Council ~ Guiding Question How can we refine our program to better serve student needs and interests? ¿Cómo podemos refinar nosotros nuestro programa para servir mejor las necesidades y los intereses de nuestros estudiantes?

NMUSD Adult Education Student Ideas: Reasons Students Stop Attending Limited space in day care Transportation problems Parents w/children in class make it difficult to concentrate Concerns about teacher(s): Favoritism – Teacher favors some students more than other students. Teacher does not motivate students and/or provide a dynamic learning experience.

NMUSD Adult Education Student Ideas: Reasons Students Stop Attending Limited space in day care – (see Day Care FAQs) Transportation problems Parents w/children in class make it difficult to concentrate – (see Classroom Policy) Concerns about teacher(s): (see Suggestion Box) Favoritism – Teacher favors some students more than other students. Teacher does not motivate students and/or provide a dynamic learning experience.

NMUSD Adult Education Student Ideas: How can we increase attendance/participation? Add a pronunciation class to class offerings. Put an anonymous suggestions/concerns box in the office so students feel comfortable sharing their concerns about teachers. Use students as school leaders – students motivating students. Give students flyers to distribute to friends, community members, and local businesses. Create learning activities in the infant/toddler room so parents don’t feel they’re “wasting time ” when it’s slow.
