Presentation transcript:

Turtle’s Race with Beaver …A Folk Tale A folk tale in a story that has been told over and over again from one generation to another. The characters often act in ways that people and animals do NOT act in real life, which makes it similar to a fantasy (NOT REALISTIC) story. What makes this story a folk take?

Listen to the story to decide what makes it a folktale… AND fantasy!

What makes this story fantasy? The animals talk and animals do not talk in real life. The animals in this story plan a race, but animals don’t plan races in real life. Animals do not come up with plans in real life like the one Turtle came up with in this story to win the race. Try to find some other ways this story is FANTASY.
