Online Tutorial on Academic Integrity Plagiarism

What is it? It is an online tutorial that helps you: understand what academic integrity is understand the importance of academic integrity learn how to uphold academic integrity learn how to avoid plagiarism in your own work

Why do you need to do it? Because: it is one of the university requirements (if you don’t complete it, you will fail this subject) you can learn to uphold academic integrity (if you violate it, disciplinary actions will be taken) it offers you fundamental academic skills that you will need to succeed in your study at PolyU

Please modify date as appropriate When should you do it? Outside class hours, anytime, anywhere, by end of Week 5, Semester 1 5 SUNDAY October Note to staff: Please modify date as appropriate Delete yellow text box when use. Please modify date as appropriate. To edit date, click on month & day.

Step 1 How to access it? Log in to LEARN@PolyU (理學網) at http://learn.polyu.edu.hk using your PolyU Net ID & password.

How to access it? Step 2 Go to “My Courses” and click on the link for Online Tutorial on Academic Integrity.

How to access it? Step 3 Follow the instructions here on how to use the tutorial. You can use the vertical menu on the left of the page to guide you.

How to complete the Tutorial? Follow the 5 steps below: Read and follow the instructions given in the Tutorial carefully Complete the Pre-test Study all 4 modules & complete the exercises Get 75% or above in the Post-test (you can retake the test if you get less than 75%) Sign the Honour Declaration Important info!!!

Tip #2 on completing a module Completion Tip Remember to click the “Mark Reviewed” button on the last page of each module to signify that you have completed the module.

How do you know if you have completed the Tutorial? You will receive an eCertificate upon successful completion. Completion Checklist Have you: Attempted the Pre-test? Studied all 4 modules? Obtained 75% in Post-test? Signed the Honour Declaration? Received an eCert?
