Good Habits Are Hard to Break

Habits: Good and Bad The NT speaks of “customs” (Gr. ἔθος) = a habit, ritual, routine, formed by repetition; a way of life; not an isolated act “Habits are hard to break” applies to both good and bad habits We spend a lot of time trying to instill habits in our children: hygiene, education, manners, etc.

The Habit of Bible Reading Joshua made this a habit (Josh. 1:8) The psalmist made this a habit (Psa. 1:1-2) Timothy made this a habit (1 Tim. 4:13, 15) We get truth to guide us

The Habit of Prayer Daniel made this a habit (Dan. 6:10) Jesus taught this habit (Lk. 18:1-8) Cornelius had this habit (Acts 10:1-2) We get answers and help to aid us
