OBJECTIVE

Course Goal Delivering knowledge and understanding on engineering and maintenance duties that are integral to the duties of an officer serving onboard. To understand the importance of periodic, systematic, and preventive maintenance

Exposure into the process of drydocking Acknowledge various conventions in relation to safety and maintenance such as ISM Awareness of ship worthiness and ship construction

LEARNING OUTCOME

Shipboard Maintenance & Repair On completion of this module the student should be able to :   Use appropriate tools for fabrication and repair operations typically performed on ships, Identify hand tools and measuring equipment for dismantling, maintenance, repair and re-assemble of shipboard plant and equipment,

Use hand tools, electrical and electronic measuring and test equipment for fault finding, maintenance and repair operations, Comply with legislative requirements pertaining to ship repair and maintenance Maintain the seaworthiness of ships, ship construction
