Scriptwriting portfolio Portfolio of scripts and story ideas. Animation/television/film.

Job Profile: Scriptwriting Provide a blueprint for everyone else. Scripts should be interesting and marketable. Scripts should fit the format/style expected in industry. Produce creative writing to strict deadlines. Be able to pitch ideas/rework existing material.

Creative skillset checklist In-depth understanding of story, plot and narrative. Understand the different ways films affect audiences. Be able to write visually. Be able to work as part of a team/be organised.

University entry requirements NFTS – professional experience (advantage), example of writing – screenplay or piece of fiction (short story, novel, play) and screenwriting sample. Bath Spa – up to 20 pages of creative writing – does not have to be script – up to three pieces of work. University Arts London: London College of Communication – personal statement, 10 pages of script – short film or from something longer. Birkbeck: University of London – creative work, interview. Bournemouth – creative work, interview. Goldsmiths – creative work, interview. Edinburgh Napier – personal statement, outline for feature film or tv show, writing sample (10 page max) short film, feature film, tv drama.
