Nouns and Definite/Indefinite Articles

Nouns and Definite Articles In Spanish, all nouns belong to one of two gender categories: masculine or feminine. Masculine nouns usually end in o (carro). Feminine nouns usually end in a (fruta). Other Feminine endings for nouns are:-dad, -ción, -tad Nouns such as cliente or estudieante can be either masculine or feminine.

Nouns and Definite Articles Singular nouns name one of something. Plural nouns name more than one of something. If a singular noun ends in a vowel, add s to make it plural. Fruta (fruit) frutas (fruits) If a singular noun ends in a consonant, add es to make it plural. Estudiante (student ) estudiantes (students) animal (animal) animales (animals) If a noun ends in –z, change the –z to –c and add es to make it plural. pez (Fish) peces (Fish (more than 1)_
