School of Social Work (SSW) The SSW is nationally ranked for its excellence by the US News and World Report SSW is an undergraduate and graduate program at CSU 350 undergraduate majors 85 graduate majors High demands on student technology, most of which supported by the CAHS CFT fee SSW is housed in the Education building, which is overfilled SSW has 2 departmental classrooms, and room 144 is new to the school

Room 144 Gifford

Room 144 Gifford

The Problem Room 144 has most recently been an infant care room for the Early Childhood Center, and is now being repurposed as a classroom High quality instructional technology is imperative to the success of the SSW students CAHS and SSW have some funds to help achieve this goal, but not enough to fund 100% of the project

The Proposal Upgrade the instructional technology in room 144 Gifford to bring them in line with CSU/CAHS/SSW standards and allow for future lecture capture Smart technology installation has been estimated at $20,575 for the room $3,000 for installation, $17,575 for equipment This includes standard smart classroom equipment, such as a projector, screen, lectern, audio, and video camera Echo360 lecture capture planned for the room (thus the camera), additional costs for this to be borne by CAHS/SSW

The Proposal, cont. If approved, the college would plan on cost-sharing the classroom technology install at 50% Funding would come from a variety of sources internal to the college Proposed impact to the University Technology Fee: $10,287 Proposed completion during the summer of 2013
