A necropolis is just like a cemetery.

The necropolis of Saqqara is located in Memphis.

The most famous structure at Saqqara is the Step Pyramid of Zoser.

At the time it was built the Step Pyramid was the largest stone structure.

The Step Pyramid was originally built as a Mastaba.

There are 16 known pyramids at Saqqara. It ranks first out of Egypt.

Saqqara is divided into 3 areas.

Pyramid of Meidum is located 5 miles south of Saqqara.
