Screenwriting & Storyboarding Phase 1: Scriptwriting AFA ALPHA F i l m A c a d e m y AFA ALPHA F i l m A c a d e m y Screenwriting & Storyboarding Phase 1: Scriptwriting Transform Your Treatment into a Script The script writers need to interpret the treatment and turn it into a workable tool for the production crew. Include dialogue, camera direction, editing direction, location, set description, props, costumes, and stage direction. This is an extremely important planning tool. Use proper professional format. (samples will be posted.) Helpful Hint: One Page = One Minute

Screenwriting & Storyboarding Phase 2: Storyboarding AFA ALPHA F i l m A c a d e m y AFA ALPHA F i l m A c a d e m y Screenwriting & Storyboarding Phase 2: Storyboarding Use Your Script to Create Storyboards Storyboards provide a foundation to build the production. A storyboard is a blueprint or visual map of your story. Allows everyone to work together with the same vision. Provides valuable information for the actors, cinematographer, director, and editors. Quality of drawing is not priority! (Stick figures are fine.) Use various camera shots to create professional visuals. (A glossary of camera shots will be posted.)

Step 3: Production & Filming AFA ALPHA F i l m A c a d e m y AFA ALPHA F i l m A c a d e m y Step 3: Production & Filming
