-Easter-

Easter is the principal feast of Christianity Easter is the principal feast of Christianity . It celebrates, according to all Christian denominations, the resurrection of Jesus, which occurred in the third day after his death on the cross, as recorded in the Scriptures. The date of Easter, variable from year to year according to the lunar cycles, it falls on the Sunday following the first full moon of spring, also determining the timing of other celebrations and liturgical seasons such as Lent and Pentecos .

The feast of Easter is mobile, because it falls on the Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox

In the Christian tradition, Easter is preceded by a preparatory period of abstinence and fasting lasting approximately forty days, generally called Lent, which in the Roman rite begins on Ash Wednesday. In the ordinary form of the Roman Rite, the last week of Lent is called Holy Week, full of celebrations period and dedicated to silence and contemplation. It begins with Palm Sunday, which commemorates the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, where he was welcomed by the crowd triumphantly waving a sign of palm leaves greeting.

At Easter there is a custom of giving chocolate eggs At Easter there is a custom of giving chocolate eggs. Actually this habit is born with time, but in the beginning as presents real eggs with colored shell, with the meaning of rebirth and life begins again.
