LOOKING UNTO GOD 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18 DIGGING DEEP SERVICE LOOKING UNTO GOD 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18

2 CORINTHIANS 3:18 “But we all with unveiled face, beholding in a mirror the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just by the Spirit of the Lord”

INTRODUCTION One of the most important benefits of keeping our gaze on Jesus is that everything about us will experience TRANSFORMATION. - Moses ( Ex 34: 29-35) - Isaiah ( Is 6: 1-5)

No man can see the Lord and live (Ex 33: 20b) – Keeping our focus on Jesus causes the Old man to die overtime. We are to be living sacrifices unto the Lord ( Rom. 12: 1-2)

Keeping our gaze on Jesus as opposed to other person helps us receive a correct or appropriate assessment of ourselves, our situations where needed to make necessary adjustments Is 6:1-8

MAKING JESUS YOUR SELFIE

Anytime we study the Word, we are looking unto Jesus, for Jesus and God’s Word are the same. Jesus is the manifestation of God’s Word (John 1:1-5,14). By the word we are changed. By the word we are convicted of sin. By the word we are encouraged. By the word we are empowered. By the word we are enlightened.

As you keep your gaze on Jesus, you become like Jesus overtime “transformed into the same image from glory to glory, by Holy Spirit” (2 Cor. 3:18b). You become like Jesus in thought, word and deed (Phil. 2:5-8, 1 Cor.2:16). You are able to look beyond the negative “present” to the glorious “future” (Heb. 12:2b); look beyond the obvious/apparent (2 Kings 6:14-17 Elisha), (Acts 16:25 Paul and Silas); see with eyes of vision. You are better able to endure hardship, persecutions, challenges of life (2 Tim. 2:3; Rom. 8:35-39).

You are able to manifest the strength and boldness of Christ, like the apostles (Acts 4:13). You are able to receive the anointing on Jesus Christ and work in the same. (Acts 10:38); like the apostles of old (Acts 3:4). You are able to do the great works of the Lord, like Moses (Acts 7:22) and the apostles of old. IX. You are able to do the impossible, the miraculous. (Matt. 14:29). You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you (Phil. 4:13)
