Mad Science Mad Science will be a 1 day event which comprises the given below competitions or parts:- Science Fair Quiz Workshop

Science Fair Schedule Team reporting and setup - 8 A.M. to 10 A.M. Organizing team inspection - 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Opening Ceremony - 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Inspection by judges - 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. Results compilation & Workshop- 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. Closing Ceremony - 1 P.M. to 2 P.M.

Science Fair Themes for Science Fair:- Environmental issues: Causes and consequences of climatic change Biodiversity: Conservation and Sustenance Life science in human welfare Alternative energy (green energy or bio-fuel) as a substitute of hydrocarbon energy Information and Communication Technology Space Evolution

Rules for Team  Each team will consist of 1-5 members.  Atmost three teams can participate from a school in a particular category.  Team should purely consist students of same class.  Each member of team should bring their school ID card to the science fair.  Entry fee for each team is Rs. 300. * Decision by the judges will be final in any circumstances. * Any misbehavior or nuisance or usage of unfair means at the fair won’t be tolerated and the decision of the event coordinator will be final.

Judging Criteria For the judgement of students, the following criteria could be applicable: The participants shall be from secondary schools of class VII,VIII, IX, X, XI and XII students can participate. S.No Criteria Percentage 1. Creative imagination 20 2. Scientific thought and approach 3. Report 15 4. Technical skill (Art &Craftsmanship) 5. Economic (low cost/portability/durability) 6. Presentation (demonstration & explanation)

Prize: Trophies & Certificates Prizes Category 1 VII & VIII Category 2 IX, X, XI & XII Position: 1st & 2nd Prize: Trophies & Certificates Out Of Four Winners 3 teams will be awarded cash prize on the basis of innovation in their project. Position 1st Cash Prize:₹5000/- Position 2nd Cash Prize:₹3000/- Position 3rd Cash Prize:₹2000/-

Quiz Schedule Team Reporting - 8A.M. to 9 A.M. Quiz Eligibility Test - 9A.M. to10A.M. Opening ceremony - 10A.M. to 11A.M. Quiz - 11.30 A.M. to 1 P.M. Closing Ceremony - 1P.M. to 2 P.M.

Quiz The quiz will consist of two phases:- Eligibility Test Quiz Competition The entry fee for the quiz is Rs. 50. Cash prize is worth Rs. 3,000.

Eligibility Test Only one member from 1 team can give the test. Eligibility test will consist of two types of questions:- General Knowledge (GK) Mental Ability Test (MAT) Top 12 teams will be selected after the result compilation.

Quiz Competition Quiz competition will have 3 rounds:- Visual quiz Rapid Fire Buzzer round

Science quiz Round 1 will be a Visual Quiz. If a team is unable to answer a question in this round then the question will be passed to next team. Criteria for points: Right answer - 10 points Passed question - 2 points Not attempted - 0 points Wrong answer - -5 points After this round 6 teams will be left.

Riddles Round 2 will be Rapid Fire. In this round no question will be passed to other team. Criteria for points: Right answer - 10 points Wrong answer - 0 points At the end of this round 3 teams will be left.

Buzzer Round The 3rd round will be a buzzer round. It will consist of 5 questions. In this round no question/riddle will be passed to other team. Criteria for points: Right Answer - 10 points Wrong Answer - -5 points After this the marks will be compiled.

Workshop The workshop will be on following topics: Successful parenting and how to understand kids. Career choices and career counseling. Strengthening of bond between parents and kids. Stress free living. Meditation and relaxation for students Anxiety reduction and much more Timings for workshop is 12 PM to 1 PM.
