Summer Assignment Student should have picked a book or two books (honors) from the Battle of the Books list. Student should have completely filled out the accompanying End of Book Sheet. Each line is worth 2 points. Assignments due on the first day of school: MONDAY, AUGUST 29

Accelerated Reader Classes are required to read 3 or 4 books per quarter About one every two-three weeks Goals based on child’s ZPD Percentage of goal is the student’s AR grade for the quarter. End of Book (EOB) sheets required for AR novels. Quizzes are taken after EOB has been approved.

Word within the Word Instructions for the year You will master 300-375 word roots 25 word parts on each word list. Activities will occur over the course of 2 weeks to learn and review word roots: Studying: I expect that you will study every night, each week. Word Pictures or Flash Cards Word Walls: 10/3 definitions Mystery Questions Word Hunt Word Part Paragraph Quizzes every other Friday and review tests every 10 wks.
