International Taskforce ITF UNGAID International Taskforce on Women and ICTs

Coordinator: Gloria Bonder UN Global Alliance for ICTs and Development (GAID) International Taskforce on Women and ICTs Community of expertise of organizations, institutions and individuals working to increase the economic, social, and educational opportunities for women and girls in the knowledge society in a measurable way Was launched in November 2006 to create synergy in international work on increasing women’s full participation in ICTs. A 'Declaration of Agreement in Support of Girls and Women in Information and Communication Technology' serves as the foundation of the ITF. ITF includes representatives of 46 national and international organizations from 23 countries including United Nations’ organizations, multi-national corporations, international NGOs, bilateral agencies, and others. Over 80 organizations from six continents and 43 countries are members of the ITF and support its work. Coordinator: Gloria Bonder

Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) http://www.wougnet.org info@wougnet.org Is a non-governmental organization initiated in May 2000 by several women’s organisations in Uganda to develop the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) among women as tools to share information and address issues collectively WOUGNET’s vision: A society in which women are empowered through the use of ICTs for sustainable development

Who is WOUGNET WOUGNET mission is to promote and support the use of ICTs by women and women organisations in Uganda so that they can take advantage of opportunities presented by ICTs in order to effectively address national and local problems of Sustainable National Development Presently, WOUGNET has over 90 women organisations as members majority are in urban areas and/or district towns where there is some Internet access and a few in rural areas
