A: phosphorylated and total ERK1/2 were measured in homogenates of resting EDL muscles dissected from normal (C57), γ-sarcoglycan (γ-SG)-null (gsg−/−), and dystrophin-null (mdx) mice and normalized to total protein. B: both gsg−/− and mdx muscles exhibited significantly increased P-ERK1 compared with C57 muscles (*P < 0.05), and gsg−/− muscles also had significantly elevated P-ERK2 (*P < 0.05).
