Student Expectations Come to class and be on time. Complete class work on time. Do all your homework and bring it to school with you each day. Bring all necessary materials to class. Be an active learner- participate! Respect others.

Projects and Trips Invention Convention (October 9th) American Heritage Program- February Ohio Project- May There will be one book report per month. Field Trips: Carillon Park (September 25th), Schuster Center for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra (October 28th) Children’s Water Festival (April or May) Sunwatch Indian Village (Spring)

Homework I do not normally give actual homework. The only homework they will have is if they did not finish in class. I might give a reading packet on Mondays that will be due on Friday. They should have time throughout the week to complete it in class (after they finish their daily work, during restroom break times, during Morning Work time). They will still have spelling words and a memory verse every week. We are working towards a more student centered classroom environment which includes students completing all daily work in the classroom…which would result in no homework.

Additional Information Students should always have a chapter book at their desk for reading if they finish their work early. Study Island – a weekly assignment in Reading and Math.

(Determined by the Linden Board of Education) Grading Scale (Determined by the Linden Board of Education) A = 90 -100 B = 80 - 89 C = 70 - 81 D = 70 - 74 F = 0 – 69
