Student Researchers Present at GLOBE Regional Student Research Symposia Over 100 students presented their research at the GLOBE Midwest and Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Student Research Symposia this past weekend (May 19 & 20). Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Symposium led by John D. Moore was hosted at the Palmyra Cove Nature Center, Palmyra, New Jersey. Midwest Symposium led by Steven Smith was hosted by Purdue University, West Layette, IN. The two-day event included students presenting their research to their peers and reviewers, professional development and networking opportunities for teachers and their students. Students used GLOBE data to answer their research questions. Fun/de-stressing activities were also included: GPS scavenger hunt, Interpretative Nature Hike, lightening talks given by scientists, and STEM Panel Presentations and Discussion. Partners involved in these events were the following: GLOBE Mission EARTH - Kevin Czajkowski, The University of Toledo, John Moore, Palmyra Cove Nature Center (affiliate of UT), Jennifer Bourgeault, GLOBE, and Jessica Taylor & Tina Harte from NASA Langley Research Center AREN Project - David Bydlowski, Wayne RESA. Other GLOBE Regional Student Research Symposia include Pacific Regional at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA, Northwest Regional at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Southwest Regional at Metro State University, Denver, CO, and Southeast Regional Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL.
