The 2015 Iditarod BY CHLOE G.

INTRODUCTION The Iditarod dog sled race started to help get a special type of medicine to sick people.

MUSHER The dogs musher is like the director. This is Cindy Abbot. Bid #: 10 Hometown: Irvine, CA She is 56 years old Born in Nebraska

DOGS There are 16 dogs. They use huskies and Alaskan Malamutes. They wear booties to protect their feet.

There are 19 checkpoints, from Anchorage to Nome. ROUTES & CHECKPOINTS There are 19 checkpoints, from Anchorage to Nome. They started the race in Fairbanks, Alaska because of the lack of snow in Anchorage. There are approximately 1049 miles .
