An Overview of the required PGEs Component 1 An Overview of the required PGEs

Visualizing What Has to Be Done Renewal seems very overwhelming, so let us simplify. Look at Component 1 Graphic Organizer. (This shows what has to be written for each PGE. This is all you have to do!)

Brainstorm Using Step 1 Brainstorming Chart think of all of the lessons you have developed workshops you have attended, etc. After you have finished determine themes that these experiences have led to that give you a multifaceted PGE: Ex: Learning research methods, and how to teach research Using a variety of Web 2.0 tools Projects in your class that use the research method and Web 2.0 tools These may all work together to form a PGE on Project Based Learning.

Multi-faceted/Ongoing Use the Step 2 Decision Table to list themes/experiences and see if your PGE's are multifaceted and Varied You may want to use more than 4 themes/experiences and then use this form to help determine which would make the 4 best PGE's Ask yourself: Do my experiences:??? Show growth/evolution of my teaching over time 2. Show my thoughtful response to students needs based on student population, changing technology, learning styles and modifications for differences in learning, changes in pedagogy, changes in content, changes in society?

Continued 3. Show my growth in: -Content knowledge? -Pedogogy? -Technology? 4. Show my commitment to 5 Core Propositions: -Knowledge of Students and Your Subjects -Set Learning Goals that are Appropriate for your students at this time -Know Subjects and How to Teach Them: Use strategies that are appropriate -Evaluating Student Learning and Acquisition of Goals -Reflective: What Would Change and What is Next
