BU106: Introduction to Business Instructor: Dr. Gale Tolan

Welcome Continued Class, welcome to Week 1 of BU 306 Introduction to Business. As your instructor, I am excited to get started, and I hope you are also. Helpful Hint: When entering class for the first time, you should endeavor to explore the classroom in its entirety. Check the syllabus as it is the guide to the class, and it contains detailed descriptions for completing the assignments. Review the P.R.I.C.E. Handout. Check Announcements periodically to identify any important messages. Check the Required Readings. Check Forums to discern what is needed to complete assignments. Check Resources as this material is there to help you succeed. Explore the University's Library. The library provides writing principles and APA guidelines.

Welcome Continued A Note About Grading: During grading, I will assume that every student has read and understood these documents. If you don't, please contact me. Overall in this class, grades will be based on timely submission of assignments containing appropriate subject content, methodology, and citations properly formatted according to APA formatting standards.  I am also looking for clear writing and positive contributions to class discussions. Details are in the syllabus. Appropriate citation of sources is required in all scholarship, in all classes, according the university's academic integrity policy. There is a lot of material to be covered in eight weeks. Try to keep up with the class. That means schedule time for the readings as well as the online Forum discussions and other assignments. If there is a problem, contact me. Call me, use Messages in the online classroom, or you can reach me via my Herzing email. Have a wonderful week!   Dr. G. Tolan
