Race For The Steaks September 30th, 4:30pm Julia Davis Park

Past Attendance This event was established in 2014 with the Idaho Beef Council and the Treasure Valley Family YMCA. The Y and Idaho Beef Council have partnered on this event to increase awareness about the benefits beef in your diet. We offer a 5K & 15K course designed for all runners. Participants finish and refuel with Idaho Beef! The Idaho Beef Council provides a steak dinner for all participants. The YMCA is the beneficiary of the event. 1st Yr 2014 - 194 2nd Yr 2015 – 438 3rd Yr 2016 – 502 4th Yr 2017 – we are expecting 700 participants

New location for 2017 We have moved the event to Julia Davis Park near the Agriculture Pavilion. We will have the same set up as the past. We will have family seating under the Pavilion. With this move we will not be on the road and will only use greenbelt. Goodwood is providing and serving food Sockeye is providing and serving canned beer

Vendors Goodwood – providing and serving food YMCA – providing bottle water Sockeye Brewing – providing and serving canned beer

Alcohol Service Provider & Plan Sockeye Brewery is providing 1 free can of beer to each participant 21 and over. ID will be required. MAV Security –5 security guards will be on site to check ID, manage the area. Beer will be within the fenced in food area with seating. Sockeye is handling the license for the this event

Greenbelt Notification We will put signs out on the Greenbelt in the area of the course 10 days before the event. Signs will read – Race for the Steaks Saturday, Sept 30th Runners on Greenbelt 4:30pm-7:30pm Register Now at YMCATVIDAHO.ORG Contact us at racedirector@ymcatvidhao.org with questions

Trash & Recycling Plan We will have 2 trash & 2 recycling dumpsters delivered on Friday Sept 29th to the park. We are working with the parks department about placement. We have requested 10 trash boxes and 10 recycling bins for the event as well.

2017 15K Course Starting in Julia Davis, heading east on the greenbelt, crossing the Orange Bridge heading south, then turn west onto greenbelt, cross over the Parkcenter bridge, turn east onto Park, then turn south onto Walnut, enter onto the Greenbelt and head west, turn south over Friendship Bridge, turn west onto greenbelt, stay west on greenbelt, turn north over Whitewater Bridge, turn east onto greenbelt, stay on greenbelt back to Julia Davis Park.

2017 5K Course Starting in Julia Davis, heading east on the greenbelt, cross over Broadway Bridge, then turn west onto greenbelt, turn north over Ann Morrison Bridge, turn east onto greenbelt, stay on greenbelt back to Julia Davis Park. Volunteers will be placed at turns, water stations and intersections on the Greenbelt.
