Geography Greece is a peninsula/ archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. It is part of Europe.
The Land Greece is very mountainous. Greek city-states often developed independently because of the mountains. Each city-state was isolated, and so city-states were very different and fought each other a lot.
The Land Greek people adapted to their environment by creating terrace farms. This made it possible to farm on mountains.
The Sea The Mediterranean Sea had a huge impact on the way city-states developed. People used the sea for trade, travel, and food. Greek city-states developed navies to use in war.
The Climate The weather in Greece is very nice. This contributed to an outdoor lifestyle.
