ACT road safety policy framework Vision Zero philosophy Safe System approach
Vision Zero Vision Zero is a philosophy – not a target. It recognises the physical limits of the human body and that people will always make mistakes. It means that we must design, construct and manage the road transport system in such a way that people will not be killed or seriously injured in a crash. The system must be designed and managed around people – not the other way around.
Safe System Safe System provides a technical methodology for implementation of the Vision Zero philosophy
ACT intervention model: drug driving Enforcement, including roadside testing Education and awareness Mass media Learner driver education Mandatory awareness course for offenders Safe roads and safe vehicles also contribute to lessen the consequence of any drug related crash
