Letter 6 – Outcome of prosecution Child is ill or absent Child is absent, parents/carer must inform the school: 0116 279 2238 Mrs Goring or email:office@thekibworthschool.org The information is then placed on the student’s file and recorded on SIMS If no information is received a text message will be sent before 10.50am to confirm the absence and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures 5 days or more absence during the academic year Letter 1 will be sent to the parent/carer – Medical evidence not received and or lack of information to support the child’s absence. This will be sent recorded delivery Attendance improves no further action No response or limited evidence is received Absence does not improve, and or trends and patterns emerge Letter 2 will be sent to the parent/carer – Limited or no evidence has been provided to support the child’s absences – Or trends and patterns are evident regarding the child’s absence Attendance action plan is put in place with the Progress Leader ( Can be up to 6 weeks) Attendance has not improved – below 94% Letter 3 – Progress leader action plan targets are NOT met Senior leaders action plan and meeting is requested Referral form is completed in line with Leicestershire County Council policies and procedures Child is classified as an ‘OPEN CASE’ for possible legal referral Attendance is classified as a serious concern Letter 4 – Prosecution referral is completed and sent to the Leicestershire County Council Letter 4a – Parent/carer are informed of referral for prosecution Outcome of prosecution Letter 5 – Sent by the Leicestershire County council regarding court dates Letter 6 – Outcome of prosecution
