Symbolism Authors develop symbolism through the use of multiple literary devices. Look at this excerpt from the famous play As You Like It by William Shakespeare. “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts,” What symbolism do you see?
