What did we do? Day 1: Introduction and carton recycling (Important!) Day 4: Repair Enzo’s airplane engine. Day 7: Configuration of CCC servers (BIOS) Started off with no qualifications: How to install computers and adaptors How to configure servers through BIOS The basics of Accelerator System and Infrastructures Ruurd
What did we do? Introduced to: Optical fibre cable maintenance The drone club Ping pong Other tasks: Install USB adaptors and operating systems, Connect and configure new CCC servers, Beat Enzo in chess!!! Maria
Our challenges In general: Enzo: Taught the hard way We had little experience (Relatable?) Specifically: Identifying problems (f.ex PC installation & fixing model plane) Playing ping pong against physicists... Ruurd
Looking at the future of CERN Dependent on global support, politically and economically, Important to stay ambitious, Important to stay ahead technologically, Would come back in the future! Maria
Advice to future HSSIP students: Do not raise your expectations, be open minded! Learn fast! Enjoy :) Ruurd
