10 Key Points about the Philosophy of Amar Jyoti School Guiding each child through a holistic approach of education to become aware of their own (“true“) potential by individual support Giving children an introduction of the Indian culture and history to build the fundament on which something new is able to grow Encouraging children to take part in discussions and to think independently (“have an open mind but think for yourself“) Helping them to understand solitude and that the most important things in life have to be experienced by themselves (through yoga and/or meditation) Building their self-confidence by knowing that God is within them and every action should be an act of faith Telling them that to make mistakes is not a sign of weakness but necessary to learn (trial and error) Letting them feel that they are part of nature by working in the garden, supporting to feed the cows, etc. Creating consciousness about Mother Natures beings (minerals, plants, animals, humans), of what their purpose on earth is and how they interact Broadening their mind by getting to know volunteers from different cultural backgrounds Making them realise to be able to learn from everything and everyone
