By Amaz Darr. L= Light Green plants need light to grow well. If they are grown in the dark, they do not get any light for photosynthesis, this reduces.

Plant Needs 4.01

P is for Place Mountains, near volcanoes, on people’s bodies, on other plants Ever heard of Edelweiss? This was a plant that grew high up on the top of Austria’s mountains Men used to climb the mountains and try to get them for their honeys (often falling and meeting their death)

L is for Light Photosynthesis requires light Too much=Sun burnt Too little= Chlorosis

L is for Light Photoperiodism is a length of darkness that a plant keeps track of and will initiate flower buds.

A is for Air Soil or media has space for air, water, and nutrients (pore spaces) If the soil is filled with only water, it will not provide the air that is needed for respiration Make sure you talk to your plants to give extra CO2, acts like fertilizer

N is for Nutrients Plants needs Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K) N- gives green growth P- makes the plants have flowers, fruits, and roots K- is what makes the plants have vitality/vigor

N is for Nutrients If a seed is planted directly in nutrients… A good way to naturally improve the soil and add nutrition… When plants don’t have enough nutrients: Chlorotic Wilted No fruit

T is for Temperature From Cactus to Pines USDA hardiness zones is the average coldest temperature for a region (1 is coldest, 11 is warmest) If we are a 7…

S is for Some Water Plants are almost entirely water Water a houseplant until it feels heavy and water drips out the bottom holes and outdoor plants need 1” rainwater per week Water underneath the foliage in the morning

S is for Some Water Plants often look droopy, have small roots, and sometimes have squishy leaves if they are overwatered Plants must have air in the soil or they will drowned! Yep, pot heads overwater!
