Warm up Copy these questions and answer in your science notebook Warm up Copy these questions and answer in your science notebook. Use this to study for your quiz on Thursday. If the Earth’s axis was tilted at 600 instead of 23.50, what changes would happen? We would have more extreme seasonal changes. Draw an astronomical diagram of winter in the United States. Draw an astronomical diagram of summer in the United States Why do we need time zones? Since different parts of Earth enter and exit daylight at different times, we need different time zones. (No matter where you live, it’s morning in the a.m. and afternoon/evening in the p.m.)

Read “Seasonal Patterns” on page 46 and 47 in the red Space Science book. How can we remember what Equinox and Solstice mean?

Create a seasonal guide! Cut out each Earth. You will glue each one down in its correct position for the season. (We will use the Northern Hemisphere position.) Cut on the solid lines.

Seasons 1. Glue the tab edge down. Glue only the edge so it can be flipped open. 2. Write the information underneath. (When you flip open the sheet you will see this.)

Read the procedure and complete the graph Read the procedure and complete the graph. This will be a double line graph!
